SRH has evolved into one of the finest service, training and research institutions with a bed strength of 200 inpatients. A number of papers have been presented at various national and international conferences regarding the new surgical techniques developed for reconstructive surgery of deformed hands of the leprosy patients. These procedures are being adopted by other similar institutions.

The plastic surgery department of Gandhi Medical College Hospital has been observing SRH’s surgical techniques and have adopted similar techniques in their hospitals. In addition, a group of plastic surgeons from Surgicorps International/USA who had come to Hyderabad to train the college’s post graduate students, visited SRH to observe the new surgical techniques adopted for hand surgery.

As it is a critical part of any orthopaedic surgery training programme, post graduate students of College of Physiotherapy Andhra Mahila Sabha, Interns from Apollo Hospital & MNR College are posted to work for varying periods in the Physiotherapy Department.

The Post Graduate students from the RM College of Social Work and St.Francis College are regularly posted to SRH for a period of six months for their project work to be done under the guidance of the Director.

Medical Officers of Primary Health Centres, Under Graduate students of the Medical Colleges in Hyderabad, Post Graduate students of College of Nursing, General Nursing trainees from several Schools of Nursing are posted for training at SRH.
